OUR STORY

Bringing Your Tech to Life was founded in 2006 by Paul Isaacson with two simple goals:

  • First, provide great Computer Repair and IT Services to the folks of the Piedmont Triad in North Carolina

  • Secondly, go the extra mile to give our clients the absolute best customer service possible.

While working in the retail environment in a large big box store, providing PC Repair revealed several things that had to change in the IT Services field:

  • Customers were not treated like family. Truth be told, when customers walked in the door for computer repair, they were first encouraged to buy something new off the shelf. Let's face it, retail businesses have one goal; sell you something on the shelf, and attach every possible accessory or software product to your device they can... and let's not forget that extended warranty with all that fine print! If a new device wasn't in the customers budget, the technicians were encouraged by management to milk every dollar they could.

  • Customers were made to feel dumb for asking questions. Listen, technology is constantly changing... In fact, it changes daily. Nevertheless, it's no excuse to be rude. We can't all be an expert at everything. But in that environment, answering questions wasn't profitable. The goal was to get the customer in and out as fast as possible. So be it if they left more confused than when they arrived.

  • Technicians acted bothered when they received calls. It never fails that something is overlooked in computer repair when policy number one is speed and volume. There are plenty of examples:

    • You have your operating system reinstalled and now your favorite game is missing when you get back home.

    • The USB Dongle that was left in the computer on drop off wasn’t with the computer when the device was ready for pickup.

    • Exporting your bookmarks from Internet Explorer to Google Chrome wasn’t performed, so now you can’t find that epic YouTube Video of funny cats.

  • Customers were charged above market value for services. Trust us, we get that a business has to be profitable. If it isn’t, it won’t last. However, you can’t make your millions on one or two customers. If you do a good job that customer tells their friends, family, and co-workers. Knowledge is power and I encourage everyone to broaden their horizons everyday to learn new things. But the level of expertise of the electronic salesmen and repair techs at these big box stores don’t quiet match up to the price tag of service. Its one of the main reasons why the good ones don’t stay there long.

Reviewing over these horror stories during past experiences still makes me cringe. I knew people wanted more and deserved better! So, I started my own PC repair business, Bringing Your Tech to Life. Over the years the company evolved to fill the niche of evolving technology. As the need for mobile device repair grew so did the knowledge of those working here. We began offering our customers repairs on tablets and smart phones. This business is constantly changing but one thing has remained constant, slow down and get to know your customers and how they use their products. There isn’t a “one size fits all solution” in the world of tech and we have to ask the right questions to make the right recommendations for you. Ultimately that is why you choose to work with someone knowledgeable in the field.

In that time, we’ve serviced thousands of devices and have hundreds of happy customers, protected hundreds of systems with our maintenance plans, and made some amazing friends along the way.
