Evolution of Man and Technology

A friend sent me an image via text a few days ago. I was in the middle of something important and didn't really get a chance to look at it in detail. When I did finally get a chance to review it something crossed my mind. What initially was something comical turned into something more serious.

The image that causes self reflection you ask? Well here it is:

Looking at it quickly you might get a quick chuckle and then continue scrolling. There inlays the issue. The image should be thought provoking. If you take the time to slow down and smell the roses next time you're out an about doing errands you might just notice that more and more people are consistently staring at their mobile phones.

The video above hopefully peaked your attention, science shows video is more engaging to consumers than images.

If you did watch the whole video you should have learned about the increase of hospital visits from distracted texters. Mindful this wasn't using stats from distracted drivers.

Is there a solution to this problem? Sure! Put your phone away... But for those who can't seem to get enough of the glowing screen maybe solutions like cross walk games will engage people and prevent them from being part of a collision.
